I hope your summer is going well and you are soaking in the last few weeks! For those that don’t know me, my name is Megan Powers, and will be the incoming PTA President.
Before we kick off our new school year, I want to personally thank Rachel Harris for being an amazing asset to our PTA and school. For the past three years as our PTA President, she has gone above and beyond in making sure our parent teacher association is a top-performing group of individuals with one priority that is always at the top of her list… our children. So thank you, Rachel, for all of the time you have spent giving back to our community and school. We appreciate you and I look forward to you helping me through this transition!
Each year we have a school theme that builds morale and sets the tone for the upcoming school year. While we transition out of a year that made us grow stronger as a community (thanks to our supeRHEroes we call teachers and staff), I feel this is an important year to focus on why Ridglea Hills Elementary has been the best school since 1955!
As someone who grew up going to summer camp, I loved the feeling it gave me whether it be from church and athletic camp to college-prep camp. There was the excitement of forming new and lasting friendships as well as learning more about myself. Camp was always a special place with profound and positive effects. I’d like to incorporate this into our school year by focusing on RHE's traditions and heritage while fostering growth with educational and recreational fun.... just like summer camp!
So this year's theme will be... Camp Mustang!
I look forward to what’s in store for our great school and community, as well as working with you all!
