A Note from Principal Cotton

Happy Sunday!

We are looking forward to a wonderful Career Day on Friday and welcoming all of our visitors in the building or virtually on Friday.  We are also looking forward to the upcoming Thanksgiving Break.  I am grateful for all of our students, teachers, staff, and parents in our RHE community! Please know that I am thankful for you all and hope everyone spends time reflecting on how grateful you are for all your family, friends, and loved ones this holiday season!  Take time to get rest and enjoy your vacation, we look forward to seeing you all on Nov. 29th.

Love you all,

Mrs. Cotton

Live Thankfully Wrap-up!

Thank you, Mustang Family!!!

A week ago, we were somewhere around 650 items, total, for the Live Thankfully food drive.  By the end, we had met our goal with 6,493 items!  Unbelievable!!  We also collected $1,200 with the LT out of dress code sales and donations, which will help purchase meals.  We know that we will have had a part in helping over 500 families in the community this Thanksgiving.  This was our 10th year to partner with Live Thankfully.  Our school, and the RHE Student Council, have been partners with LT for all 10 of those years.

This was, again, a total community effort.  It came from students, parents, grandparents, UTA's Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority, friends, and neighbors working together.  It's the heart of a community that always rises to meet the needs of those around us.  Thank you, also, to everyone who joined the packing parties Saturday to bag the food that will be distributed with the Thanksgiving meals.

Congratulations to 4th grade for bringing in the most items (2,287 items), and to Kindergarten for your amazing 2nd place finish (1,250 items).  Students and parents, you went above and beyond when called upon to help.  Because the school met our overall goal, students and staff can be out of dress code next week on Wed. and Thurs., Nov. 17th and 18th.

Thank you, RHE community, for your compassion of others.  We are, indeed, a school who Lives Thankfully and is always there when called upon to help.  It's what I love most about this school family.

Gratefully,

Lori Blakley

Write a Grateful Gram Tomorrow!

It's time to show our RHE Teachers and Staff how grateful we are for them! This week, I will be delivering Thanksgiving treats to the staff, but I would love your help to make It a little more personal.

Please stop by the front of the school at drop-off or pick-up tomorrow (Monday) and fill out a Grateful Gram to be delivered along with their treat! This is just a simple note of thanks and appreciation for all that they do! It will only take a minute of your time.

I’ll also set up a stack of blank notes by the fifth-grade and third-grade entrances, so encourage your kiddos to stop and write a quick note to their teachers and drop them in the designated basket!

Thank you for helping our RHE Staff feel loved and appreciated!

  • In addition to the angels we have available, we are also asking for 20-25 $25 Walmart gift cards to include for each family. If you don’t have time to shop but want to help spread love and holiday cheer, Walmart gift cards are a great option!
