A Note from Principal Cotton

We look forward to our 5th graders attending Monnig Middle School on January 12th this week to hear about great and exciting experiences coming in 6th grade.  Parents are invited, please see the flyer and MMS’s website for more information!  Also, I want to thank our teachers and staff for an amazing 1st week and for pushing through this week with our unknowns of this disease!  Our teachers and staff have shown up every day for our students and welcome them back into our halls and classrooms and I truly appreciate their unwavering commitment to our students and learning community.  Special shout out to Nurse Carrie Woodward for being our selfless hero that is constantly navigating through our day-to-day circumstances that impact our students!  She had done an excellent job and I truly appreciate her dedicated work of supporting me and our leadership team in keeping everyone safe!  We also want to welcome our new head custodian, Mr. Dee Smith! He joined our RHE family this Thursday!  Please stop by or say hello to Mr. Dee and let him know we are happy that he’s a part of our Mustang family!

Love,

Mrs. Cotton

Run Club News

Run Club resumes tomorrow, Monday, January 10, 2022. It will be chillier than it has been so far this season, so please make sure your child is dressed for being outdoors. They should wear comfortable shoes, and bring a snack and water bottle (they can fill it up inside the school before heading to the track). A reminder that pickup is at 4 pm at the gate near the teacher's parking lot at the back of the school. Students who are not picked up on time will be sent to the front office to be picked up there.

Mustang Miles t-shirt order forms will be posted soon!

Popcorn Friday!

Thank you, Amy Rose and her group of amazing volunteers who helped with Popcorn Friday last week! It was such a nice treat for all RHE students, teachers, and staff to enjoy!

Play It Safe!

The Women’s Center of Tarrant County will be presenting the Play It Safe!® program to all students on January 14th, 2022. The purpose of this personal safety presentation is to provide the students with information and practical skills to reduce their risk of being in dangerous and/or abusive situations. This program fulfills the requirements for sexual abuse training mandated by the state.

This 1-hour program is presented in an age-appropriate, non-threatening manner, through the use of stories, group discussions, and age-appropriate videos. You can preview the video trailers on www.playitsafe.org

Students in K-5 will be bringing home a letter about this presentation during the week of January 3rd.  If you DO NOT want your student viewing Play It Safe!®, please return the bottom portion of the note before January 12, 2022.
