A Note From Principal Cotton

Parents,

We are excited about the introduction of HOUSE implantation taken from the Ron Clark Academy, celebrating positive culture and climate with all staff and students at RHE!  Please look in your child’s folder for a letter and and invitation to be sent out on Tuesday!

Remember, we also have MAP testing this week for K-5 students to support our students level of learning this year. Please make sure our babies get a good night sleep.

Also, remember there is no school for students this Friday or Monday for our Labor Day holiday.  This week will be a four day week.

Sincerely,

Principal Cotton

Walkathon Kickoff is Tomorrow, 8/29!

Tomorrow, Monday, August 29th, is the annual Walkathon Kickoff!  Plan to show up to school a bit early for a few fun surprises in front of the school in the morning, including the Monnig Middle School and Arlington Heights High School Marching Bands, as well as the Arlington Heights High School Cheerleaders.  Spirit Shop will also be open tomorrow morning. All items are $1 - $4, so bring your cash! In addition, Kona Ice will be sold after school tomorrow, cash or card allowed.

The Kickoff is to draw your attention to the Walkathon packet that will come home with your student tomorrow.  It will have more information and details.  Details are also available here!

What is Walkathon?  During the month of September, we will be asking you to give and collect money for our school in the form of family and/or business sponsorships, donations, spirit shop items, and restaurant nights.  It’s a great month of fundraising and community building for our awesome school!

To celebrate our month of fundraising efforts, the entire school, plus parents and family, will walk a 1-mile loop around our neighborhood on Friday, September 30th at 8:00 a.m.  Please make arrangements so you can come!

Stay tuned to the RHPTA Facebook Page for more exciting Walkathon activities happening this week!

Any questions?  Please reach out to Julie Dore at RHEWalkathon@gmail.com or stop by the Walkathon table tomorrow after school, next to the Kona Ice truck!

Wear Your College Colors Thurs., 9/1

Staff and students at Fort Worth ISD schools are being encouraged to dress in their college colors on Thursday, September 1st as a way to further encourage students to consider the goal of a college education. Wear your favorite college shirt or college colors!

Ms. Harris, School Counselor

It's Secret Buddies Time!

Hi Parents! I am so excited to be coordinating this year's RHE Secret Buddies for the 22/23 school year This is such a great way for us to spoil our amazing Mustang staff throughout the year! Below I have listed some additional information on how this program works, if you have any questions, please feel free to send me an email at sarascott812@gmail.com.

What are the RHE Secret Buddies?

- Any mustang family who would like to participate will be assigned a Ridglea Hills Employee to leave little treats and surprises for throughout the year to show them how much we appreciate them!

What types of treats or gifts?

- Whatever you want! I am collecting “About Me” sheets from the Staff Members that will list their favorite snacks and drinks etc but feel free to get creative!

When do I have to provide my gifts?

- Whenever you like! You can drop your tokens of appreciation once a month, on holidays, or randomly throughout the year as a “just because” surprise.

Ready to sign up?

- Contact me, Sara Etter, at sarascott812@gmail.com. If you have any special buddy requests let me know but it is first come first serve!

Thank you all! Can’t wait for a great year!

Join the PTA Today!

Don't forget to  JOIN the Ridglea Hills PTA off your Back to School To-Do list!

Only $10/person

(If you were a member last year, you DO have to rejoin each year)

You might be asking - Why should I join the PTA?

  • Support your school - A portion of your membership fee goes directly to fund PTA events and programs at our school, provide additional learning materials and supplies for our classrooms and teachers, and help fund campus improvement projects.
  • Stay up to date on PTA & school news - Our RHPTA is a vital source of communication about upcoming events at school and throughout the year for your student and family.
  • Connect with other families & PTA members - PTA is a great way to meet other families & community members who are connected to our school.
  • Support advocacy for our students, faculty, and school - A portion of your membership fee goes to the National & Texas PTA to fund advocacy for our students.  Texas PTA is instrumental in policy change and influencing decisions made about our schools and teachers.
  • Learn about volunteer opportunities - You do not have to ever volunteer or attend any meetings as a member, but if you wish, PTA is a great way to get involved and volunteer at our school!
  • Take advantage of TXPTA member discounts - There are a number of great businesses who offer discounts to Texas PTA members and support our students and school.
  • Receive a free membership sticker - Come see us at the PTA table at Open House to pick up your free membership sticker after joining!

WHO can join the PTA?

  • Everyone!  Parents/guardians, grandparents, family members, friends, community members, teachers/faculty, alumni.  We welcome and encourage anyone interested in supporting our school to become a member!

We have a goal of one PTA member for each student enrolled at our school.  We need YOUR help to make that happen!  Sign up your family and friends TODAY!  Ask your teacher if he or she has joined!  Our PTA actually earns recognition and awards based on numbers of members and types of memberships - parent/faculty/grandparent/community member/etc.  Together, we can make a big impact for our students and our school!

Thank you to everyone who has already joined!  You should receive a digital membership card in your email in the next few weeks.  Please let Sara Cox (saradcox@hotmail.com) know if you have any questions or don't receive your card.  You can use your membership for some great discounts! Don't forget to pick up your membership stickers!
