Walkathon FUNdraising Update!

Another fantastic Walkathon week, Mustang Fam!  What an amazing community we have here at Ridglea Hills.  Thank you for all your continued support.  We could not do this without you!

The winning class for last week’s challenge will be announced tomorrow morning in the Walkathon weekly update video on the RHPTA Facebook Page.

This coming week’s theme is ‘Rally for Recess!’  Bring in your spare change and dollars.  Find your grade’s piggy bank in the front lobby and fill it up.  The GRADE that brings in the most money will win 30 extra minutes of recess with a popsicle party!

Spirit Shop will be open tomorrow during Special Persons/Grandparent’s Day, as well as on Wednesday afternoon, and Thursday morning.  Spirit Shop items ($1-$4) as well as out-of-dress code bands ($2) for Thursday will be sold.  Speaking of Spirit Shop, we have several opportunities to volunteer to help.  Sign up here if you can help run Spirit Shop at any point throughout this month.

Our restaurant fundraiser night this week is on Wednesday at Fred’s Texas Café from 4-10 p.m.  Mention Ridglea Hills Elementary and a portion of the proceeds go right back to our school!

To finish out the week, Kona Ice will be sold Friday after school, and Spirit Shop will be open during that time, too!

Get your family & business sponsorships in ASAP!  The cutoff to be included on the t-shirt and signs is THIS FRIDAY at 11:59 p.m.!  Missing forms?  Please go to www.rhpta.com.  Any additional questions?  Please contact Julie Dore at RHEWalkathon@gmail.com.  Thank you, and let’s go, Mustangs!

Accelerated Readers (AR) is off to a great start!! We will have our first ribbon call out this Tuesday during the morning announcements. If you are new to Ridglea Hills, don’t worry! A handout with detailed information will be coming home with your student this week.

**As a reminder quizzes many only be taken on the school's network. Unfortunately the district has decided to go back to pre-Covid days and not allow anymore at-home testing. You may test anytime as long as you are connected to the school's network, before school, after school, weekends and even holidays - any time!

Join the PTA Today!

Don't forget to  JOIN the Ridglea Hills PTA off your Back to School To-Do list!

Only $10/person

(If you were a member last year, you DO have to rejoin each year)

You might be asking - Why should I join the PTA?

  • Support your school - A portion of your membership fee goes directly to fund PTA events and programs at our school, provide additional learning materials and supplies for our classrooms and teachers, and help fund campus improvement projects.
  • Stay up to date on PTA & school news - Our RHPTA is a vital source of communication about upcoming events at school and throughout the year for your student and family.
  • Connect with other families & PTA members - PTA is a great way to meet other families & community members who are connected to our school.
  • Support advocacy for our students, faculty, and school - A portion of your membership fee goes to the National & Texas PTA to fund advocacy for our students.  Texas PTA is instrumental in policy change and influencing decisions made about our schools and teachers.
  • Learn about volunteer opportunities - You do not have to ever volunteer or attend any meetings as a member, but if you wish, PTA is a great way to get involved and volunteer at our school!
  • Take advantage of TXPTA member discounts - There are a number of great businesses who offer discounts to Texas PTA members and support our students and school.
  • Receive a free membership sticker - Come see us at the PTA table at Open House to pick up your free membership sticker after joining!

WHO can join the PTA?

  • Everyone!  Parents/guardians, grandparents, family members, friends, community members, teachers/faculty, alumni.  We welcome and encourage anyone interested in supporting our school to become a member!

We have a goal of one PTA member for each student enrolled at our school.  We need YOUR help to make that happen!  Sign up your family and friends TODAY!  Ask your teacher if he or she has joined!  Our PTA actually earns recognition and awards based on numbers of members and types of memberships - parent/faculty/grandparent/community member/etc.  Together, we can make a big impact for our students and our school!

Thank you to everyone who has already joined!  You should receive a digital membership card in your email in the next few weeks.  Please let Sara Cox (saradcox@hotmail.com) know if you have any questions or don't receive your card.  You can use your membership for some great discounts! Don't forget to pick up your membership stickers!
