Our annual Live Thankfully Food Drive begins Monday, Oct. 31st.  We will be collecting non-perishable food items.  You can bring things like canned vegetables, meat, beans, or soup.  Boxed items like mac & cheese, potatoes, rice and ramen are also good.  We will collect for grades PK-1st grade in the hallway by the library.  2nd - 5th grade can bring food items to the front hallway.  We will collect items until Nov. 10th.

It's Time for Book Fair!

The Book Fair will be open before school beginning on Monday, October 31st through Friday, November 4th.

For those families that take advantage of the after-school care programs, we will keep the fair open on Wednesday until 6 p.m.

Consider using eWallets... they are a great way to help your kiddos shop without the need to send cash to school.

New Date! Carnival is THIS FRIDAY November 4th!
Carnival Volunteer Sign-Ups and Additional Information Is Here!!

Our Ridglea Hills Carnival is quickly approaching! We have TONS of fun games & activities planned and need YOUR help to make this a super fun evening for all of our Mustang families!

What you need to know about Volunteering:

  • Carnival is from 6-8 pm on Friday, Nov. 4th

  • Each grade is in charge of running 2-3 booths

  • Parents sign up for set-up, 30 minute shifts during the Carnival, or clean up...this allows for parents to help a little AND leaves plenty of time to enjoy the event with their families

  • The Carnival Committee will provide all booth materials, prizes and instructions.

  • Middle schoolers, High schoolers and College students can volunteer! They can sign up with the links or email us. Many of our Alumni enjoy helping in the Haunted House and we need them! Email if you, or student, wants to work INSIDE the HH in costume. If they need hours signed off on, please email us or they can bring paperwork that evening.

Run Club Begins Monday, Nov. 7

We are excited to announce that Run Club will start Monday, November 7th after school until 4:15pm. Run Club is open to RHE students 2nd - 5th grade. We will meet every Monday there is school (barring any bad weather) and we will be training for the Cowtown Kids 5K on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 9:00 am. We are asking that all Run Club participants commit to this race!

We will also be capping the number of participants in Run Club this year. We want to ensure everyone’s safety by keeping our group at a lower volunteer:runner ratio. We will make an announcement when we have reached capacity. This is first come, first served sign-ups.

Students may not attend without a signed permission form! No exceptions!

Permission forms are all online this year, and you only need to complete one per family. Please see the link below to complete a permission form before Monday, Nov. 7th.

AR is Still Rocking!

Come check out the bulletin boards by the library and see how many record hits we have so far.

It has also been brought to our attention that AR  is back on for home testing, please remember this is not about how many points you can earn, AR is to track the comprehension of our students as they read. It is not a race!

Lastly, we have had questions about why AR points are at 0, this is depending on the teacher and grade, but some teachers track points for a 6 week period. If you look for the box that says marking period, click on it , scroll to the bottom that says 2022-2023 school year, you will be able to see how many total point you have earned for the year and how close you are to your next ribbon.

I hope this clarifies some questions, if you have anything else please feel free to reach out.

Happy reading!! AR Chair, Lesli Hammer: leslihammer44@yahoo.com
