Wow! Fine Arts Day 2023 was a fabulous day of celebrating the Arts! Our upper grades rocked it out in the auditorium with Monnig Piano teacher, Natasha Rogers and her students (several former RHE students) while lower grades were dancing with the Monnig Dance Instructor, Morgan Corbin and other FWISD dance teachers. We had our traditional grade level fun activities: Pillowcases, Mustang Names, Bubblegum Self-Portrait, Guitar, Heights Cheer and Band, Dallas Puppet Theater and Woodworking with Mustang Muscle. I hope you were all amazed at the artwork your kids brought home Friday! It was definitely a day filled with memories that for the kids, and myself, will be timeless.
I want to thank everyone that made the day happen. It takes many hands to get a day like FAD accomplished, and when our first Major March storm hits the night of prep, we still had hands! Thank you to those that braved the weather and hunkered down in the lower grade halls decorating it as the worst of the storms passed!! A day like this takes months to prepare so a huge thanks goes to Laura Hixon for organizing volunteers, t-shirt sales and lunch! Your pivoting skills are impressive! Meredith Rowsey, the Outdoor Art Queen. The window is amazing and the new art pieces you painted. I loved it…Thank You! Amy Burch and Mr. Heick- Thank you for creating those great sculptures as well as the other colorful creations and DJing, respectively!! Monica Hawkins- thanks for creating an awesome Music station! Thanks to Jenn Nevitt, Mr. Wyatt, and Kim Caplin for helping create the decorations and Jennifer Sheffield, Julie Grimsley, Ivy Ellis, Emily King, Eddie Holmes, Rance Monk, Eric Bourassa, Sara Etter and Erin Williams for leading 4-5 rotations!
