SUBJECT: RH Pony Posts: Labor Day Edition

A Note from Our Principal

Hi RHE school family,

I hope everyone had a wonderful Labor Day and enjoyed their time off for rest and relaxation.  We are off to a great start and looking forward to our annual Open House this coming Wednesday from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Please come out and walk the halls of RHE to see your child/children’s classroom(s)!  All RHE staff will be there to welcome our Mustang Families!

I can’t wait to see my babies on Tuesday!  Have a great Labor Day Weekend!

Coming up at RHE!

We've got a short but jammed pack week of activities!

Walkathon Kickoff Tomorrow Morning!

We’re starting this week off with a bang with our Walkathon Kickoff! At drop-off on Tuesday, keep an eye out for the drumlines from Monnig Middle School & Arlington Heights High School and the AHHS Cheerleaders!

Walkathon is RHE's biggest fundraiser that funds much of what the Ridglea Hills Elementary School PTA accomplishes each year. That money goes to supporting our teachers, upgrading technology, new playground equipment, new shade covers over drop off areas, and so much more. It’s only possible because of our great RHE families, businesses, friends, and supporters.

The month of fun culminates with our students walking a 1 mile route through Ridglea Hills.

We have a month packed full of fun challenges, restaurant nights, and much more. We can't wait to showcase our many great sponsors as well.

Your kiddo will receive a packet on Tuesday with all of the details for Walkathon - business sponsors, family sponsors, t-shirts, permission slips, and much more.

If you'd like to be a business or family sponsor, message our Walkathon Chair Brent Dore at RHEwalkathon@gmail.com.

Walkathon Spirit Sales Shop Volunteers Needed!

First General PTA Meeting & Open House Wednesday

Join us for the First General PTA meeting of the school year at 5:15. We will go over PTA, budget and upcoming events.

Following the PTA meeting, join us for a Come and Go Open House from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. You’ll get to visit your student(s) classrooms and hear from your child’s teachers about their
classroom expectations, curriculum, what they have been working on and your child(ren) can show you around their class.

Then join your fellow Mustangs at Jason’s Deli on Camp Bowie for dinner! Mention you’re with RHE and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to our school!

Clothing Closet and Weekend Snack Packs available!

Did you know that we have a clothing closet and weekend snack packs available through our school counselor’s office?

Please visit RHE School Counselor, Tracie Harris, in the portable outside the library door during Open House to get more information and sign up for assistance. You will be able to shop the clothing closet, sign-up for weekend snack packs, and get more information about Thanksgiving baskets and Angel Tree holiday programs. Look for the signs leading you to the library door and red balloons on the portable door.

To contact Mrs. Harris, email her at Tracie.Harris@fwisd.org or call her at 817-815-1715 to get more information about the assistance available or to set up an appointment to shop the clothing closet.

Donations needed: We are in need of snacks for weekly snack packs. Thanks to your generosity, we are pretty stocked up on clothing in the clothing closet. Please consider bringing a food item with you to Open House and anytime throughout the year. You can leave donations in the bin marked “Snack Pack” outside the front doors.

Items needed: ramen noodles, individual mac and cheese cups, granola bars, single serve packages of goldfish/pretzels/cheez-its/chips, fruit snacks, cereal/fruit bar, pop tarts, single serve cereal or oatmeal, cheese crackers and fruit cups.

Celebrate your child's birthday in style!

Mustang Stampede is back and ready to thrill your kids with a surprise appearance on their birthday or any special occasion!

Your $30 donation (which goes to support the 5th grade field trip) includes 12 mustang signs and a Ridglea Hills sign. Happy Birthday signs can be included as well! Just let us know!

Reservations must be made at least a week in advance.

Reserve your special day now! What a fun way to support your 5th grade families and show the neighborhood your RH spirit!

We are now taking reservations for the month of August and September.

Please email rhstampede@gmail.com to make your reservation. Include the date and address. You will receive an email reply to confirm your reservation (we have 2 sets of signs, so we can make 2 reservations per day). Please use this link to submit your answers or you can fill out the form and return to your teacher or email me at meganpowers84@yahoo.com. A copy will also go home with your child this week!

Fort Worth ISD requires an online background check process for all school volunteers. Background checks must be completed every year for volunteers; they do not carry over to the next school year. For those with students in multiple schools, one background check is sufficient, as it covers all of Fort Worth ISD.

Complete your mandatory application and background check to volunteer through Fort Worth ISD.
