A Note from Our Principal

Hi RHE school family,
 

I can’t believe we are almost finished with the first six weeks of school! We are off to a great start, and everything is passing by so fast! The last day of the six weeks is this coming Friday, 9/22/23. 

Please make sure that you talk to your students about submitting any missing assignments that haven’t been turned in for this grading period. This is very important! Let’s finish this last week strong! See you all soon!

Walkathon Updates

Mustang Family, you really did blow us away with your support last week!

What an incredible week we had with lots of fun and even our Special Person visitors supporting our efforts last Monday. You all really showed up BIG and it was fun to see the turnout all week long.   We are busy tallying the sponsorship totals and will be sure to share the class that won on the morning announcements soon!

Get your horses ready for this week’s Recess Roundup! In the front lobby of the school we will have our RIDGLEA piggy bank set up again this year. Each grade will be assigned a letter of the piggy bank to donate coins into. The GRADE that brings in the most money will earn an extra 30 minutes of recess and a popsicle party!  Don’t forget to look between the couch cushions for all the extra change!  Every bit helps!

We are also hosting a Spirit Night Skate Party at Rollerland West this Wednesday, Sept. 20th from 5 to 7 p.m. Entry is $6 per person and siblings and family are welcome to join the fun!  

A portion of the proceeds from this evening will go back to the Walkathon fundraising efforts.  Rollerland West is located at 7325 Calmont Ave.

Get your family and business sponsorships in ASAP!  The cutoff to be included on the t-shirt and signs is THIS FRIDAY, September 22nd at 11:59 pm!  Missing forms?  Please go to RHPTA.com. 

If you are looking to order more shirts or submit donations online, please go to the Membership Toolkit site online at RHPTA.com. We also have several opportunities for volunteers to help with Spirit Shop.  Sign up here if you can help at any point throughout this month.  

 We will be having Spirit Shop (items are $1 - $4), Out of Dress, and Kona Ice again this week.  See below for important dates this week.  Just a few weeks left to make a powerful impact for our school! Thank you for all the support! GO MUSTANGS!

We have added kids sizes in the Trailblazer shirts from Meet the Teacher night - if you are looking for adult sizes in that style, we have LOTS of on hand inventory, please let us know what you need!

There's something for everyone, so make sure to take a look and get your orders in.

A note from your school counselor

September is Suicide Prevention Month. 

We want to make sure all of our parents are educated on this very important topic. Get more information on warning signs and assistance here. 

Celebrate your child's birthday in style!

Mustang Stampede is back and ready to thrill your kids with a surprise appearance on their birthday or any special occasion!

 Your $30 donation (which goes to support the 5th grade field trip) includes 12 mustang signs and a Ridglea Hills sign. Happy Birthday signs can be included as well! Just let us know!

Reservations must be made at least a week in advance.

Reserve your special day now! What a fun way to support your 5th grade families and show the neighborhood your RH spirit!

We are now taking reservations for the month of September and October.

Please email rhstampede@gmail.com to make your reservation. Include the date and address. You will receive an email reply to confirm your reservation (we have 2 sets of signs, so we can make 2 reservations per day). After your reservation is confirmed, you can pay via Venmo, via Membership Toolkit or cash or check. Information will be sent to you regarding payment.

Join the PTA!

Do you want to help support the school and all that the PTA helps do?  

Did you know the PTA puts out the Pony Post, helps buy supplies for each teacher, sponsors afterschool clubs, buys things like the shade structures for the play ground and so much more?   

By signing up to be a member – your dues help support all the things we do throughout the year!   

There are no meeting requirements, but we’d love to have you come!   There are no volunteer requirements, but you are welcome to sign up if you have some time to give.   

It is $10 a member or $20 a family (2 adult memberships) and you can sign up online or if you’ve already signed up for Membership Toolkit you can sign up by clicking on “store”.   Need to pay by cash, check – then please fill out this form and return it to your child’s teacher.   Please consider joining the PTA and helping make a difference at RHE!  

Calling all volunteers!

Want to be more involved at RHE??? Volunteering is a great and easy way to support our children and school.

Fort Worth ISD requires an online background check process for all school volunteers. Background checks must be completed every year for volunteers; they do not carry over to the next school year. For those with students in multiple schools, one background check is sufficient, as it covers all of Fort Worth ISD.
